Sgt. Kabukiman, NYPD Animation Pilot and Sizzle Reel (1991)

In November of 1991, DIC and Troma announced a SGT. KABUKIMAN, NYPD animated series. The project was the brain child of DIC's Andy Heyward, who had produced shows like INSPECTOR GADGET and HEATHCLIFF. SGT. KABUKIMAN, NYPD was his son's favorite movie. The script planned to expand the story with additional superheroes and villains to build out the world. However, due to growing anti-Japanese sentiment in the United States, the planned series and subsequent toyline and other products were canceled. What follows is the original animation pilot and sizzle reel that DIC created to pitch the series to networks.
